Hot Spots



Project Goal:
Design an app to provide users information on popular locations around DePaul’s Loop and Lincoln Park campuses, targeting DePaul students.

Prototype


1. Button groups are used in multiple places to help the user associate buttons with one another. For example, the settings icon grouped with the search bar tells the user that the top of the page has important navigation tools. The group of like, save, and comment on any particular location information card all implies interactive buttons in relation to the user’s selection. 
2. In the location cards, visual hierarchy is used through titles and headings being bold and larger than the bodies of text. “Featured” is colored blue to make the user more aware, while some less important text is colored gray rather than black.
3. Carousel is used on our saved lists page for users to be able to horizontally scroll through their lists. The arrows are an affordance that there is more content in a particular list.
